Contest Rules
Eligibility

This national art competition is open to all U.S. residents in grades 3-12. Participants will be grouped into three divisions based on their grade level: High School Division (9-12th grade), Middle School Division (6-8th grade), and Young Artist Division (3-5th grade). To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in primary or secondary school or participate in a home-school program. Please note that college and university students are not eligible to participate in this competition.

The call for submissions for the 2025 ArtDash competition opens on November 1st, 2024. The deadline to submit your artwork is March 1st, 2025, with winners being announced on April 12th, 2025.
How to Apply

To enter the ArtDash competition, fill out the online entry form, upload a high-quality image of your artwork, and submit a $10 entry fee by the submission deadline. Before submitting, please review our grading rubric to understand how your artwork will be evaluated.
Rules

Only digital artworks created using professional drawing software are permitted. Acceptable software includes:

Adobe Photoshop

Procreate
-
Clip Studio Paint
-
(and similar programs)
-

Submissions must be:
-
Entirely hand-drawn using digital tools.

No scanned traditional artworks or mixed media (combining digital and traditional methods) will be accepted.

The following will result in automatic disqualification:

Photographs
-
Photo manipulations
-
Any artwork that uses photo-editing software (like Adobe Lightroom or similar).

All artwork must be original, meaning it cannot rely on tracing or direct replication of existing images or photographs.

The use of 3D modeling or rendering software is not allowed.

Ensure that your file is:
-
Saved and submitted in a high-resolution format (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF).

A minimum of 300 dpi to ensure clarity during judging.

If any judge suspects that an artwork may have been created using AI, participants will be required to provide proof of their creative process, such as layer files or progress shots. Failure to provide sufficient proof may result in disqualification and the revocation of any awards.

Digital artwork may contain text, but do not include text for commercial purposes.

Do not include any copyrighted characters in your artwork.

All winners will receive certificates recognizing their achievements, along with honorable mentions awarded for outstanding contributions. Additionally, the top 10% of participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their exceptional performance in the competition.
